A proposal to amend the Post 9/11 GI Bill to allow spouses of those killed in action to receive the same education benefits as their children would was reported in Military.com at: http://militaryadvantage.military.com/2012/10/spouses-of-heroes-education-act/ The current law does not allow Spouses of Heroes to receive full benefits; the amendment is supported by many military and veteran associations and the SVA.
